Iraq outscored Kuwait 91-80 in Jenin at the 2025 FIBA Asia Cup Pre-Qualifiers. They took an early 23-16 lead and led 3 points at the halftime. The third quarter was decisive in the game as Iraq needed a 27-16 surge to seal the win.
Hassan Abdullah (190-G-1994) top-scored for the winners with 22 points and Karrar Hamzah (187-G/F-1995) had 19. Demario Mayfield (196-G-1991, college: Angelo St.) collected 15 points and 14 rebounds, whilst Mohammed Al-Khafaji (206-C-1991) delivered 14. Alexander Alghais ended up with 22 points in the losing effort.
